Copper Letter Opener

This is a hand forged letter opener forged made from solid 3/8 copper. Each one can be customized with up to 6 characters on each side of the handle! Although it is sharp, its only meant to cut envelops. It has a beautiful finish straight from the forge! Makes a great gift for anyone! Perhaps anniversary, retirement, or even unique wedding favors. Perfect for the Copper (7th) wedding anniversary!

WHEN YOU ORDER, please specify what you want on the handle; I can fit six on each side of the handle. A popular option is initials on one side and a date or "<3 7TH <3" on the other side. See the pictures for ideas. I can stamp letters, numbers, and the symbols in the last picture (period and slash are free and don't count towards total).  Please send me a quick message if this is unclear.

After forging, I lightly hammer the edges of the blade to "work harden" the copper, just like the ancient smiths would have done. It creates a beautiful and surprisingly durable blade. All the work that I do is with antique blacksmithing tools. Because of that, each item is one of a kind and shows all the hammer marks that come along with being hand made. The finish is a light coat of linseed oil.
